For any young person who would like to gain the skills and confidence to take part in community theater, or simply get creative with friends. Directed by Kari Ekhoff, HSMA’s Musical Theater Camp for ages 7-18 begins August 1 and finishes up August 5 (9-3 each day). Experience all aspects of theater production such as set design, improvisation, musical performance and movement. PLUS Kari has planned team building games and other hands-on activities that will keep this a fun and interactive week. The registration is $125, and the deadline is July 24. The three orchestras of the Headwaters Youth Orchestra program will be giving a concert on Tuesday, May 31, 6:30pm at the Headwaters School of Music and the Arts, 519 Minnesota Ave NW. The orchestras, made of players age 9 to 18, will be performing a selection of classical, folk tunes, and movie and video game music. Admission is free, but donations to the youth orchestra program will be accepted.

The Headwaters School is now offering Flute lessons with Roshann Lund. who has been playing flute for over 20 years. She minored in music at University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire and went on to study flute and music composition at Berklee College of Music in Boston.

The Headwaters Youth Orchestras will be giving a concert on Tuesday, March 15 at 6:30pm, at the Headwaters School of Music and the Arts, 519 Minnesota Ave NW.
The Prelude, Symphony, and Philharmonic orchestras will each be performing a set of music, followed a performance of “Celtic Dance” by the combined orchestras. Admission is free, but free will donations will be accepted.

The Headwaters School of Music and the Arts will be having a free open mic night for student-age musicians on Friday, March 4, from 7:00-8:30pm. Come play or sing your original or cover music by yourself or with your band or group. Any genres and instruments are welcome. There will be free food and drinks, and a grand piano and sound equipment will be available if needed.
