Headwaters Open-Mic Coffee House will be held Friday, March 2nd, 7-10pm. The CoffeeHouse is a volunteer-led community event with a relaxed and welcoming tone, held the first Friday of most months. The event features music and spoken word performance in a supportive and family-friendly environment. Good coffeehouse fare is available courtesy of Cantabria Coffee Co.
This month’s CoffeeHouse will be hosted by local musician, and Bemidji Area Youth Commission Advisor, Rachel Munson. Rachel will be joined in her hosting capacity by the Bemidji Area Youth Commission (BYAC), a commission of the Bemidji City Council. The BYAC exists to represent the interests and concerns of a broad spectrum of youth in the Bemidji area and to seek out and promote ways to foster a healthy and positive environment for youth and families in the community.
The BYAC will be dedicating the March 2nd Headwaters CoffeeHouse to Spring Fever. It is a difficult time of year for many and the BYAC would like to spread some early spring cheer with as many folks as possible. The BYAC will be selling carnations during the CoffeeHouse to raise funds for their upcoming June 7th Youth Rally.
All ages and skill levels are encouraged to sign up for a 10 to 15 minute set. Feel free to Bring a song or poem about spring. Sign up begins at 6:30. Admission is $3/person or $7/family.
