No one is too young to appreciate music and movement. This 8-session class held Fridays June 18 – Aug. 13 (No class July 9), 10:45 – 11:30am, is for children ages birth to 6 and their grown-ups. Families will be able to freely explore learning stations during the first 15 minutes followed by 30 minutes of class instruction. The program includes musical vocabulary, rhythm activities and lots of songs and dancing! The playlist ranges from folk to classical to jazz and even rock. Each session will be taught by Rowie Lund, whose goal is to give children of all ages a gentle introduction into many genres and instruments – and to give parents and caregivers the confidence and skills to nurture a life-long love of music in their child.
Rowie is a mom of four who has worked with young children for over 20 years in many child care settings, including camps, afterschool programs and music lessons. She has a BA in Psychology from UW-Eau Claire. She also studied Music Composition at Berklee College in Music in Boston. Rowie works full time as a Coach for Child Care Aware of Minnesota.
