Headwaters Music & Arts will be hosting Shannon Westrum’s exhibit Woven Elements for the month of November. Her woven work is sometimes practical, but always beautiful, and demonstrates that art can be found in everyday objects.
Shannon, a Northwoods local, captures the nature of Northern Minnesota. Her flowing work is reminiscent of our fluid scenes, while sharp edges and muted natural palettes speak to the forests. She says “Each piece is designed to be organic and free flowing. I take my inspiration in the form of a focal point – a handle, antler, piece of driftwood, and sometimes a handful of glass beads, and create my shape to include and
compliment that inspiration.”
The public is invited to the opening reception from 4 to 6 pm, there is no cost to attend. The exhibit will be up through the end of the month.
