Week of the Young Child at Headwaters
In collaboration with the Bemidji Early Childhood Collective, Headwaters Music & Arts will help celebrate the Week of the Young Child which runs from April 5th - 11th, 2025. Week of the Young Child is national effort to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families. The week starts off on Saturday April 5th with the Tiny Tots Expo at the Sanford Center from 9:30am - noon. Headwaters will have a booth there, so come by and say hi! The following week, local organizations will host daily themed activities meant for families and caregivers to explore with their young children. Headwaters Music & Arts will host 2 free activities during the week, on Music Monday and Artsy Thursday.
Monday, April 7th, 9:30am: Mini Musicians
Join music teacher Sarah Leach for a sample music class for children age 1 to pre-K and their grown-ups. Mini Musicians offers a chance to explore the foundational elements of music through play and hands-on experimentation. Come discover the basics of rhythm and melody in this lively and joyful session!
Thursday, April 10th, 10:00am: Little Artists
Join art instructor Maranda for a sample art class geared toward children age 2-5 and their grown-ups. Participants will experience how art helps us explore color, texture, pattern, shapes in the fun, sometimes messy and always inspiring environment of the Headwaters art room.
