The April edition of the Headwaters Open-Mic CoffeeHouse convenes Friday, April 6th at 7pm at Headwaters Music & Arts. Held on the first Friday of most months, the CoffeeHouse features open-mic music and spoken word performance in a supportive and family-friendly environment. Good coffeehouse fare is available courtesy of Cantabria Coffee Co.
Theater artist, poet, and teacher Cate Belleveau hosts April’s CoffeeHouse. She is excited to promote the CoffeeHouse’s tradition of supporting and honoring creative expression. In recognition of Earth Day, Belleveau will share work that honors our Earth and environment. Others may wish to do so, as well.
Belleveau has a long history as an audience member, MC and performer with the Headwaters Open-Mic CoffeeHouse. The family-friendly environment has been important to her: “My children felt entirely supported as they read poetry, sang, and had a blast in a place where their voice was honored.”
A self-described “words person,” Belleveau looks forward to intertwining her poetry with the “fantastic music and spoken word” at the CoffeeHouse. “Also, it is Shakespeare's birthday on April 23rd,” she noted. “So we need to share a few quotes by the Bard.”
