Pottery Program... Always wanted to try your hand at the potter's wheel? Need a quick refresher on that ceramics class you took in high school? Whether you are just curious about clay or want to further your skills, you can sign up for pottery classes at Headwaters. The atmosphere in our art studio is relaxed, collaborative and just plain fun.

Instruction, ceramics tools, clay, glaze, and firing are all included in the fee. Students will practice using coil, slab, and pinch methods, learn paint and glaze techniques, and receive an introduction to wheel throwing. Clay for participants 18 and younger is free. Adults first-time registrants receive up to 12.5 pounds of clay when they register for the first time. Additional clay can be purchased at Headwaters, a Minnesota Clay distributor. There is no outside clay or glaze permitted. Students are advised to wear clothes that they don't mind getting dirty.

Register online, to ensure your spot (your spot is not secured until payment is received) A minimum of 6 participants per session required to hold all of our pottery programming.

Note that we no longer offer our open studio pottery opportunity. Open pottery students are asked to simply sign up for our Noon-2pm and/or 6-8pm Adult Pottery offerings.
