Headwaters Music and Arts holds its second annual Rock Band Boot Camp

Headwaters Music and Arts holds its second annual Rock Band Boot Camp for young musicians. Rock Band Boot Camp will be held 1-4 pm July 24-28 and is a ‘group performance’ class for musicians ages 10 to 17 with one to two years of experience playing guitar, drums, piano, bass or voice. Participants are welcome to bring a secondary instrument as well if they would like to learn how to improvise with the band.

Rock Band Boot Camp is a condensed version of Headwaters’ after school Rock Band Program held throughout the school year. The summer camp focuses on learning covers, songwriting, chord progressions, scales, singing harmonies, soloing, band communication, and how participants can thrive with their fellow bandmates in a live setting all over the course of 5 summer afternoons. The young rockers will find a supportive environment to try out other instruments if they choose. Participants will work together as a band to pick what tunes their unique group will practice and learn, drawing from the many rad decades of rock ‘n roll. The week will culminate with a live rock show for family and friends.

Rock Band Boot Camp will be held at Headwaters’ downtown location, 519 Minnesota Ave NW, Bemidji. The cost to attend is $200 per participant. Headwaters offers several scholarship and grant options for all of its youth programming in an effort to make their programming accessible for all. Registration deadline and full payment are due July 19.
