Description
Grades K-4 | Young artists will learn different styles of art and learn about famous artists and their work. Maranda’s goal is to help each child explore different mediums and styles to find the artist in themselves and what type of art really speaks to them. The club members will be able to lead art projects and help decide some of the projects we will be doing.
This year’s Young Artist Club will focus on the 7 elements of art – color, line, shape, value, form, texture and space. Each month children will learn about a different element and discover famous artists whose work emphasizes these elements. They will also learn about different mediums to express the element and how it fits in with the other elements. At the end of the month, they work on a piece to be displayed in the final art show. There will be two opportunities for them to show their art and what they learned: a mid-year celebration and the final art show in the spring.
Monthly themes: October – Color | November – Line | December – Shape | January – Value | February – Form | March – Texture| April – Space | May – Final Masterpiece.
